Why sand sculpture?
Sand sculpture breaks normal thought patterns and opens up new perspectives on ourselves, on life, on control, relaxation and consumerism. When we hold on to something very tightly - nothing new can enter. There is stagnation and hence despair. It is precisely the agreement to release, to let go of fears, of the future, of what will be, that allows the natural movement of life to exist. Space is made available for new movement, fresh energy, laughter, joy, vitality and presence with what is.
To sculpt in sand is to agree to lose and to process, through working with a material that we loved as children and distanced ourselves from as adults.

What do I suggest?
1. An experiential, creative and formative workshop held on the beach.
2. The family/group creates sand sculptures according to the nature of the event (birthday, bat mitzvah, mothers and daughters, wedding anniversaries, etc.).
3. A process that combines enjoyment, creativity, playfulness, positive communication, strengthening the sense of belonging and collaboration between participants.
4. Using sand sculpture as a tool for creating direct communication,
So creativity explodes and innovative, entertaining, and unusual ideas are created.
Why sand sculpture?
What shall we do?
We will gather on the beach and get to know each other.
I will present myself and the story of sand sculpture through the works of art created (and washed up) on the beach.
We will see how sculpting with such a fragile material helps us process experiences, release what was and is no longer, and surrender to the present moment, to what is waiting to come.
Depending on the size and age of the group, the group will work together or in pairs. Each group will create its own sculpture – while jointly formulating the idea and execution – and in conclusion, each group/pair will present their creation while processing the experience they have had.
Proposed workshop framework:
Workshop time : approximately two hours
The date will be determined depending on weather conditions.
Required accessories : umbrellas, mats/chairs/hats (responsibility of the guests)
My responsibility: tools for sand sculpting
The length of the workshop and the sculptural content can be adjusted to suit the needs of the family/group.
Number of participants: 10-30 in one activity.
The cost of the workshop depends on the required activity and the size of the group (an adjusted price quote will be submitted for each request).

My name is Marganit Erez , a multidisciplinary artist, exhibiting in exhibitions in Israel and abroad. I also lead sand sculpture workshops for families and private events - with many years of experience in the field.
I believe that sand sculpting on the beach allows every person of any age the freedom to be, create, play, express themselves, be curious, think creatively, step outside the box and connect with the healing power of nature in an open and enabling space, alongside a shared and empowering experience in an intimate family/friends setting.
